Saturday: Fire & Ice at the Ithaca Children’s Garden

fire_spinners_ICG_webLgNot every event asks you to bring your own icicles. But on Saturday February 9th, the Ithaca Children’s Garden invites you to do just that. The Fire & Ice Festival is open to all ages, and will run from 3pm to 6pm.

Festival activities will include igloo and snow fort building, as well as Andy Goldsworthy-inspired environmental snow/ice art. But focusing on your snow masterpiece won’t be easy: at the same time there will be bonfires, fire juggling, fire hula-hooping, and fire sculptures! We are not sure what a fire sculpture is, but we can’t wait to find out.

In case you haven’t visited before, the Ithaca Children’s Garden can be found just south of Cass Park on Route 89 (Taughannock Blvd) and the Cayuga Inlet. For more information about the event see the event page on the ICG site.
